About the challenge

Roslyn Code Overload 2025 is the Roslyn Code Club’s annual hackathon and will be hosted at Roslyn High School. It will last 10 hours starting from 9 am and is open to all middle and high schoolers! The entry fee is $10 dollars but food will be provided for all participants with numerous prizes for winners.

Make sure you have filled out the Google Form, and have reviewed the submission requirements and code of conduct.

Requirements

What to Build

Anything! There is no specific theme that you have to follow for this event but be sure to check out the judging criteria to see what we are looking for during the judging process.

What to Submit

You are required to submit your project on DevPost along with a short description about your project and the code (through a platform like Github preferably, but a zip file is fine if necessary). Including pictures is recommended to help show what your project does!

Judging will be done live with individual teams presenting to a panel of judges as they go around to all participating teams.

Judging Criteria

  • Creativity & Originality (10 points)
    How unique or creative is the idea? Is it something new or a fresh take on something existing?
  • Technical Complexity (10 points)
    Did the team challenge themselves appropriately for their skill level? Did they use any new tools or concepts?
  • Functionality (10 points)
    Does the project work? Even if it’s not fully complete, can you interact with it or see the logic?
  • Impact & Usefulness (10 points)
    Does the project solve a real problem or serve a clear purpose?
  • Presentation / Communication (5 points)
    Was the idea clearly explained? Did the team convey their thought process, even if their code didn’t work perfectly?
